IAAPA

The Theme Park Engineering Group went to the 2007 IAAPA Exposition Show in Orlando Florida. There were three members that went Brad Okeson-President, Dan Linden-Vice President and Kevin Kolar-Collegiate Member. They made their trip leaving Columbus around 7am on Thursday the 15th and arriving at the Orange County Convention Center at approximately 4:30pm. The engineering students met up with David Lee, Vice President of Exhibitions, Conference and Meeting Services for IAAPA at the show that kindly showed us around the 500,000 square feet exhibiting area introducing us to several of the vendors and getting accustomed to the layout. While the group was there they met several roller coaster designers and manufacturers, such as Premier Rides, The Gravity Group and Great Coasters International to name a few. On Friday the Buckeyes met several other companies and great people, companies that dealt with waterslides to roller coaster modelers. Attending this event has been a goal since the group was created, and the trip was well worth it. It was the greatest experience that anyone in the group has been a part of since the group had been created.
