Future Projects
Our organization has several distinct projects and plans that we would like to accomplish in the future. Education and research is the core of our group and we must educate ourselves and others by immersion. Theme park engineering is not a text book subject. This is an area of expertise that must be hands-on learning. All of the projects we are planning have this fundamental element, immersion.
- Recruit speakers to educate us on their theme park specialty in the fall through spring quarter of 2007-2008. We would like to cover as many areas as possible so we will diversify the level information and not replicate the same experience. This would serve as a learning experience and also promote interest on and off campus for our group.
- A math and science day program for elementary to high school students. We believe that theme parks are something that easily relates to students. Our target audience would be schools in the Columbus area and we would host the event on our main campus. We already have had a middle school student come in and take part in an engineering design meeting. This was extremely rewarding for our group to watch his thrilled reaction and we would love to replicate the experience for many others. No set date has been created for said project.
Each and every project is tied together by common factor, immersion. This is the secret to our success. Some projects physically immerse us in theme parks and conventions while others allow us to sit back and allow professionals in the field to immerse us in their wealth of information. In addition, we would have self-immersion through literature. And finally we will have the chance to immerse other students in our field of interest and educate them at the same time. All of these are outstanding programs and should be maximized to their fullest extent.
